Online or in person communications training: which is better for your situation?
Research confirms that while online learning is highly effective for knowledge acquisition and flexibility, in-person training is generally superior for skill development, behaviour change, and fostering collaboration. The physical, interactive environment of in-person training allows for immediate feedback, hands-on practice, and deeper relationship building, which are crucial for complex, interactive, or behavioural learning.
Online training is highly flexible, offering the possibility to stage the trainings over a longer period. It’s a highly efficient for quick, theoretical updates or dispersed teams. However, for leadership development and team cohesion, in-person training is considered superior.
